Paid a premium and learned valuable lessons. Stopped by here with a friend and thought I'd spontaneously pick up a new chain because I needed to replace mine. They sold me a KMC 10 speed chain for $100. I wasn't familiar with how much chains cost but I did mention this seemed pretty expensive. The employee assured me that this is just how much they cost and that chains are expensive. I ended up just buying it and then went out to say goodbye to my friend. Afterwards I had a strange feeling,...

This bike shop is in a great location, especially if you’re biking from West Shore to downtown Victoria, near Uptown. It’s perfect for riders heading to or from Sooke or Goldstream. Staff are friendly, and there’s a free pump and tools outside. They sell used parts, not cheap, but helpful. Lovely space with flowers too.

Full disclosure: I always avoided this shop. I assumed because it is a cooperative and a hub for the local "grass roots" bike scene that it would be staffed by a bunch of smug prima donna scenesters basking in the self-perceived glow of having attained some status in their community. So many good things to say about this place. I signed up for the “learn how to fix your bike” course. I signed up with no knowledge. I literally was looking for someone to teach me how to change a tire. Not only, did I learn that, I learnt how to fix a few other things on my bike. Things I paid someone else to do for waaaaayyyy more money. The bike mechanic leading the course was extremely helpful and very clear and concise when teaching. It was the perfect environment to learn and at a grea...

Fast and friendly service! These guys know what they’re doing, and they have a blast while doing it. I got my front derailleur adjusted while I was on my way to the ferry in no time and for a very fair price. The bonus was learning about the cool lizards that live on the island! Highly recommend this spot for fixing any troubles while biking between Victoria and Swartz Bay.
