The E-Bike Dealer Network in 2026: what 4,646 shops say about where electric riding actually lives

RoostMode maintains a structured directory of every electric bike and e-moto dealer we can verify across the United States and Canada. This page is the aggregate view of that dataset: where the shops are, which brands they carry, and where coverage runs thin. Every figure is computed directly from the directory and refreshes with it. Data last updated October 7, 2026.

Dealers per million residents: small states ride hardest

Raw counts follow population. Adjust for it and the picture flips: mountain and rural recreation states lead. Vermont tops the nation at 60 listed dealers per million residents, several times the big-state average.

The brands on shop floors

Legacy bike-shop brands and direct-to-consumer e-bike makers now share the same floors: Specialized leads with 435 listed dealers, but DTC-origin brands like Aventon, Velotric, and Rad Power have built physical footprints of their own. Counts are dealers listing the brand, out of 110 brands tracked.

The densest dealer cities

Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are effectively tied for the deepest dealer benches in the country. Each city links to its live directory page.

The e-moto footprint is a sun-belt story

695 US dealers carry e-moto machines (Sur-Ron, Talaria, Stark, and company) — a fraction of the e-bike network, and heavily concentrated where the riding season is long and open land is close.

Specialty e-bike retail is a high-satisfaction category: the median shop clears 4.5 stars. The practical takeaway for buyers is that a low-rated outlier in this category is a real signal, not noise.

Canada at a glance
