The smartest thing I did on my trip to the city was to rent an e-bike from Fancy Apple. Reserved it online at 7am picked it up at their Church Street location at 8am. The bike had good power and was super easy to operate. I went everywhere the subway takes you only above ground going through little Italy, Chinatown. So… if they had just made things right, I would have given 5 stars. In principle the e-bikes are in pretty good shape. I rented 2 x e-bikes for 4 hours to tour up the Hudson and through Central Park. After about 2.5 hours in… my daughter’s bike went from 4 bars of power to completely zero power. Getting back was less than fun. The store manager simply said sorry and offered an extra hour the next day if we wanted to rebook. Naturally, that was not a convenient solution to the problem. He then...
