I bought an old women’s classic schwin from WB, she was rickety from day one with questionable gears (functioning on their own whim), but mostly worked for the 10 yrs I owned it, did the job of easy local riding. Went to a different bike shop for a fitted road bike that i used for my wiork commute. Bought a fixed gear bike online that I needed for fastest/easiest/light weight commute/travel in downtown. If yoh bike for different reasons, having different bikes for each helps — and can be done...
If you’re going to Working Bikes, you’re probably aware of their charity mission and all that they do. This review is solely focused on my experience with Working Bikes’ retail storefront. In terms of their offerings, you can typically find decently updated (tires, saddles, cables, brake pads, etc) bikes for commuting and neighborhood use for around $250-$400. OH YEAHHHH...ANOTHER CHICAGO GEM! 💪💪 Let me break this down for ya, this place literally saved my wallet from a stroke! I was in need of new brake pads because I'm on the BIKE EVERY SINGLE DAY YK?! I'm a missionary for the Church of Christ! 💪 and this place has only aided me in doing much of this FABULOUS WORK!😆 It took me 6 months to realize that I needed new breaks, my bike would literally cry everytime I squeezed the break pedal🥺..it was in pain! So during an exchange with another fabul...

I shared my story of having a blue Schwinn as a child and my bike being stolen. It fit me perfect. They let me test ride throughout the store. I was given a brand new lock for my bike and shown how to use it along with other features on my bike. Devon and her co-workers were amazing and very helpful! I will definitely be back in! I high...
I've bought a bike here, bought parts here, and I volunteer here. As a bike shop, it's a great place to go look for used parts or to buy a fixed-up used bike. With the used bikes, it's best to browse on their website, because they only keep some in the storefront. With the used parts it's like a Goodwill Outlet Store. There are large bins of different categories of parts, you have to sift through and find the part you need. Recently, I've had decent luck finding the *exact* part I needed. ...
